On Tuesday I was dancing Brazilian forro. I met a lot of new people and I was dancing a lot. I felt very happy and all the memories of my trip in Brazil came back as I was surrounded by people from the country. I like traditional forro a lot, it originates in north-west part of Brazil (mainly Fortaleza where I spent 3 weeks, dancing a lot of forro as you guess). They played a lot of axe music as well but I like the new axe music, not the old one (the new one has more accent on rythm). Brazilian guys dance in a way that you (well, I....) are left with your mouth open, just like Colombians but it is a very different style.
On Saturday I went to Luciana's house in Hammersmith and then we went for a walk along Thames (in the picture). The day was beautiful. Luciana is leaving England in few months and she is upset about it. She has been working on a project for 4 years in London (biological experiment in a hospital) and now the hospital doesn't have money to pay her any more. Luciana offered to finish the project without being paid, and they still said no. She needs to finish the project and publish it, otherwise the 4 years of her work will mean nothing. She decided to come back to Italy and to finish the project in Florence.
I will miss her a lot, her amazing cooking and going out together.
Yesterday we went out dancing, I danced a lot again. I never danced so much salsa in South America, and I understood why. The only crazy for salsa place on the continent (Cali) has a particular custom which I don't like. You dance a song with somebody and then you come back to the table. In London, if you like dancing with someone, you just dance half and hour or more if you like, until you can't catch a breath. This way you really enjoy the dancing and you don't worry that you have to come back to the table.
