In Birmingham

On Tuesday I went to Birmingham, the second largest city in England.

I was invited by a friend who was working there. It is only 195 kilometers from London (121 miles) but when I got off the train it was much colder than in London.
I was contacted by two Couch Surfers who offered to show me around and I also met a Russian girl Ana. Steve was American, recently his wife left him and at the moment they are fighting for a house they bought together in States. James works in a hospital on a psychiatric ward and he is planning to spend a year in India in a yoga retreat. Ana just got a job in a call centre and she is waiting for her husband to join her as he is dealing with the emmigration documents in Moscow. It was interesting to listen to their stories.
Birmingham is much smaller than London, I was surprised by it actually. However, the centre is very beautiful.
