On Saturday I went to another interesting seminar of Matt Hussey. Although the seminar was commercially oriented, Matt said few interesting things. For example:
- do new things in life and break out of your comfort zone. we don't get results we want because we prefer to stay in situations in which we feel comfortable. doing something new will also change our mood and people are going to notice it.
- when we meet people, we initially see only 5-10% of who they really are. we immediately build the other 90-95% in our heads. we build a picture who this person is and how he/she behaves in certain situations. very often we overvalue the person and undervalue ourselves.
- everyone has a little unchangeable core inside, it is our personality or genes. all the rest (for example habits) is possible to change in our favour.
- socialise a lot. it will make you a better conversationalist.
At the seminar I met my Spanish and Peruvian friends and afterwards we decided to join a picnic in Hyde Park. We arrived in the park at 7 pm. It was pouring with rain so I phoned Maja, organiser of the picnic and I asked where they were. We met the group in a pub.
Yesterday I went to a Spanish meetup on a boat. I met Marcela from Buenos Aires, city I love. I thought there are not many Argentinians in London because Marcela was the first one I had met. She said it is not truth.... In the picture with her and other people.
