We are back to London and back to work. We had a wonderful holiday although filled with some unexpected surprises. Sicily is still my favourite place as I always meet lovely and generous people there, I am never disappointed by how open and welcoming my friends from Palermo and Siracusa are and there is always something new to discover on the island.
Travelling by buses and trains is not expensive in Sicily but they don't run frequently. If you want to travel around the island, it's better to hire a car, as long as you are on time to pick it up... The average price of a double room in a nice hotel or B&B was 50 euros per night, per room. In Lampedusa it was 70 euros per night for our lovely flat as it was high season.
In the pictures: last couple of days of relax (in the background Favignana island near Marsala, 1 of 3 islands near the city, others are Levanzo and Marettimo) and on the plance back home, leaving Sicily.
