Yesterday I participated in a very nice Sicilian custom that happens few days before a wedding. Groom hires singers who play guitar and together with the whole family of the groom, they go to bride's house and they sing serenades for the bride who wakes up and opens the window. I like this custom a lot,  in my opinion it's much better than hen or stag nights, and all the family gets involved. Nobody drank any alcohol yesterday which, after 12 years of living in London, was initially a shocking but wonderful feeling :)
I participated in Serenata once before, in Cartago in Colombia, where it was organised for a birthday party.
In the picture: dancing in front of bride's house in Agrigento, as a part of Serenata.
