I decided to go on a 12 - mile hike with one of the meetups. I signed up myself and Fausto and we drove to Hassocks yesterday (it's a small town just after Crawley) to meet the rest of the group, 38 people, at the train station. When we arrived at 10.30 am, there was nobody at the station. I called the organiser and it appeared that I didn't read the date properly and the walk will take place next Sunday, 31st August, not the 24th ha ha ha...
We met an American - English couple at the station and decided to walk together. The day was fantastic, it was warm and sunny and the walk was not difficult although it involved some mild climbing. There was a sea view in the distance. We arrived in Lewes at 4 pm, took train back to Hassocks then drove to Brighton for fish and chips and some more walking by the sea, and we came back home very tired.
