We went to Sicily for a week. We spent five days in Grotte (too many days as it's a town with nothing to do, and all the young people left for the north or abroad). However, during this time we went to the seaside, to a town called Siculiana, where the beach is clean and the water was still warm. October is the best time to go to the beach in Sicily as the water warms up during the summer and cools down in November.
We visited a place called Scala dei Turchi (in the pictures), a beautiful rocky cliff on the coast of Realmonte, near Porto Empedocle. It has become a tourist attraction due to its unusual white color, and also because it was mentioned in Andrea Camilleri's detective series about Commissario Montalbano.
