A week after we came back from Poland, I went to Aarhus with 6 girlfriends. One of them chose the city because it's the European City of Culture.
My friends were staying in an apartment and I did Couch Surfing with a lovely Danish - Ukrainian couple who welcomed me in their flat situated 15 minutes by foot from the city centre. When I arrived in their flat, Irena took me to the Old Town which is next to their block. It's an exhibition of old Danish houses brought from all over the country to this one place - an open-air town museum located in the Aarhus Botanical Gardens. In 1914 the museum opened as the world's first open-air museum of its kind and today the museum consists of 75 historical buildings collected from 20 townships in all parts of the country.
