Then we went to a carpet factory where we were shown how they make their carpets. The real purpose of the visit was: selling, selling, selling. Unfortunately the carpets were so expensive that we were put off from buying any (about £300). After that we went to a Mezcal factory, Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from different types of the agave plant. We bought two bottles of Crema de Mezcal mango flavour.
Then we visited Mitla. It's the second most important archeological site in the state of Oaxaca, and the most important of the Zapotec culture. It's one of many well-preserved archeological sites of the Oaxaca Valley, where the dry climate has preserved sites as old as 10,000 years.
In the pictures: trying all kinds of Mezcal (I have to admit, they were extremely generous and served everything you wanted to try) and in Mitla.
