Today we went on a tour, to the Arabian Desert. We were disappointed by the tour, not the travel agent itself but the experience all the agencies offer, and it's all the same. We were looking forward to sandboarding but it was very poor - one sandboard for a group, and sliding down very slowly on a small dune. Camels ride - duration time 1 minute. During the trip we were encouraged to spend money on activities such as buggy and squad bike rides (700 and 250 dirhams), craft items from shops and VIP area for the dinner. We also didn't click with the people from other hotels we were travelling with in the same jeep, and we usually do.
The whole trip was saved by a traditional dinner, very tasty buffet that included drinks and dessert. There was also a belly dance show that was good too. We also met 2 nice Polish women that were in Dubai on business and we had a chat with them. And just being in the desert felt great, although unfortunately people litter this beautiful desert and it looks like there's no punishment for doing it. Generally we had a good day out.
