Yesterday we had a problem with the Al Hosn app again and because of it we had to do another PCR test. Obviously every PCR is stressful because if we had covid on holiday and had to self-isolate, it would be a disaster. In Emirates everyone (both the locals and foreigners) have to do PCR every 14 days. If they are negative, they get red (instead of green) pass on the app. Without the green pass, no one can come to work, no matter what the excuse is. We got the green passes at the end, and travelled to the centre of Abu Dhabi from Al Zeina by 175 local bus. It took over an hour as the bus was very slow, but we could see the city from the bus. The journey cost 80 pence.
We walked along the beach in Corniche Road, passing many landmarks such as the Nation Towers, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Tower, Etihad Towers and Emirates Palace. Then Raquelita joined us and we went to the downtown to a shopping centre for dinner. The downtown was full of life, also because it was Friday.
