26th of January is a very important day for India - Republic Day. India attained independence from British rule on 15th August 1947, and it wasn't until 26th January 1950, that the Constitution came into effect. India became a sovereign and a republic state. Today everything is closed. We were invited by Sunaina and her family for lunch (her mother, her Sri Lankan husband Sheran and Mini, a lovely ex-stray dog brought from Sri Lanka). Their house is beautiful, and the food was delicious. Sunaina loves dogs and she looks after the street dogs, as fortunately most people do. I met Brownie, one of them, who was very happy to see me. Brownie is definitely not starving :) In the evening we spent some time chatting to our Couchsurfing hosts.
