Yesterday Joanna and Carlos took me to Albufera National Park, to a town called El Palmar where you can have the best paella in the city (paella originally comes from Valencia). Apparently it's very expensive to eat out in El Palmar. There is also Albufera lake, with the surface as large as the city itself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albufera
Then I took a bus to Alicante. Distance Valencia - Alicante: 166 km, 2,5 hour on the bus, 16 pounds.
In Alicante I met my host Anna. She spent all day hiking in the mountains, 70 km from the city. I went for a long walk at night and I quickly understood that Alicante is nice but small (in the picture). This morning I woke up early and visited the most interesting places in the city. In the late afternoon I am cooking dinner for Anna who is a great host and then I am leaving to Almeria. I don't think I could live in Alicante, it feels kind of separated from the rest of the world.
I am moving south where I finally want to rest on the beach!
