Yesterday in the afternoon we took a bus to Split. We will spend about 2 nights in each place we want to visit. It takes 4.5 hours to get to Split and the ticket costs 130 kunas = 14 pounds (164 km).
The bus trip was great - although the bus stopped many times on the way, we travelled by the coast so we could see the sea and islands. When we arrived in Split, at first our feelings were mixed. The city looked quite rough, communistic and dirty. Our hostel is 15 walking minutes from the old town but the room is big and the owners are very friendly. We visited the old town at night, I liked it a lot.
Today we went to an awesome park on a hill (Park Suma Marjan) and after that we had a typical Croatian food in a local restaurant, beef with gnocchi. I like Split more than Dubrovnik and I feel good here, probably because it's not so crammed with people.
In the pictures: view point in Park Suma Marjan and the centre of Split.
