Yesterday there was 50th wedding anniversary of Fausto's parents, the main reason why we are in Sicily. The church celebration and the party afterwards were very good and I met more family members.

Today we were supposed to take a ferry to Lampedusa, an island south of Sicily, near North Africa. The ferries leave from Porto Empedocle, birth town of a famous Italian writer Camilleri who wrote "Montalbano".

When we arrived in the port, we discovered that the ferry had been cancelled. I am really disappointed, so is Fausto.
In the pictures: family celebration and a 10 - hour wait for a night ferry to Lampedusa that left at midnight, after our 3 pm ferry had been cancelled.
