19 April 2014

We slept for 9.5 hours in the first night and we woke up at 10.30 am (3.30 am UK time). Fai Lee took us to an amazing Arabic restaurant for lunch. We loved the food. Then she took us to a park on a hill called Bukit Melawati (Bukit = hill in Malay) situated 68 km outside of KL where we could feed monkeys with green beans and peanuts. It was a very funny and relaxing experience and the monkeys seemed to be so clever.

After that we went to watch fireflies in a small town called Kuala Selangor, it's a typical Malay village as well as a small fishing village. We took a boat on the river to see bushes with fireflies. It has to be completely dark to see the insects, the bushes looked like Christmas trees. It was so peaceful and all we could see were the lights in the bushes.
Fai Lee bought us a fruit called durian. It looks beautiful... I am not fussy with food and I eat everything but this fruit is just disgusting, smells like dirty socks and tastes even worse.
In the pictures: with a cheeky monkey and smelly durians.
