In Hiroshima

Fukuoka - Hiroshima: 209 km, 1 hour by Shinkansen (as we have the Rail Pass we don't need to pay for any travel, we just need to take the Shinkansen Sakura trains).
We are staying in a nice hotel in the centre of Hiroshima, walking distance from Memorial Park, Peace Memorial Museum and Bomb Dome. All of them are situated in the centre of the city and are dedicated to the legacy of Hiroshima as the first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack, and to the memories of the bomb's direct and indirect victims.

This morning we went to an island called Miyajima. It is a small island less than an hour outside of Hiroshima. We had less then a day to visit it so we were in hurry. When we arrived in the island (by a ferry), we took a cable car to Mount Misen. Then we walked to an observation spot. The sight from there is ranked as one of Japan's three best views.
We walked all the way down. We really liked the island, if we knew it was so nice we would have planned to stay there overnight and hike for a couple of days.

When we came back to Hiroshima in the evening, we went to the Memorial Park to take some pictures and then we went to a restaurant.
Fausto really liked the look of one restaurant, it was a very traditional Japanese restaurant with business men sitting inside. It looked expensive so we decided to have a good look at the menu and choose food that was not extremely expensive. So we did, the food was healthy but not that tasty. We were given little starters by the chef although we didn't ask for starters. We thought, how nice of him, offering the only foreigners in the restaurant typical Japanese starters. We didn't feel nice though when we saw the bill, we were charged for the little starters and also for tap water which was put in front of us but we didn't ask for it and we even didn't drink.
We felt deceived. If it was in London we would argue of course but we didn't know how things worked in this restaurant and at £35 for both of us we felt it absolutely was not value for money.
