This morning was raining so we went to the Memorial Museum which we were going to visit anyway and which tells the story of the atomic bomb dropped on the city on 6 August 1945 (and 3 days later the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki). The entrance costs surprisingly 50 yen, which is 30 pence. The museum was very crowded, maybe because of the rainy day. I didn't want to feel depressed again like after the Nagasaki Museum so we were out after 20 minutes.

Then we took the Shinkansen to Osaka and then a local train to Otori. We are staying with a Japanese Couchsurfing family.

In the pictures: Hiroshima Peace Memorial in Memorial Park, commonly called the Atomic Bomb Dome, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The ruin serves as a memorial to the people who were killed in the atomic bombing. Over 70,000 people were killed instantly, and another 70,000 suffered fatal injuries from the radiation.
