Today was raining all day. We decided to visit a very famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in our waterproof clothes. It's an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto, famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The trails lead into the wooded forest of the sacred Mount Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds.
After that we went to the Japanese baths, Onsen in town of Kurama, outside of Kyoto. We enjoyed the outdoor pool with a beautiful view and the hot water although it wasn't as good as the Onsen near Sapporo where the water was naturally hot and the one we went to today was also the mountain water but heated up. Anyway, it was very relaxing.
I spoke to a Korean woman in the baths who told me that Japan is cheap for Korean people at the moment so they travel to Japan a lot (South Koreans of course). We checked this: in 2012 £1 was 120 yen, at the moment £1 is 177 yen.
