31 December, Galle and Unawatuna

I couldn't sleep at night (jetlag) so I found a nice hotel in Galle, woke Fausto up at 7 am and asked him to leave Hikkaduwa. Although we booked the hotel for 2 nights, we owners kindly allowed us to pay just for the night we stayed. I just couldn't face another day in the town and celebrating New Year's Eve there. Instead, we took a bus to Galle, a nice town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, just 30 minutes by bus from Hikkaduwa. Our hotel is outside of Galle, 5 to 10 minutes by bus that is reliable and the ticket to the centre costs 7 pence. On the way to the hotel we took a tuk tuk and we were ripped off again, as we found out from the hotel owner.
There is a nice beach near Galle called Unawatuna. This is a completely different beach from the Hikkaduwa beach - long and clean. We spent half day on the beach, then we came back to the hotel to rest and we went out at 6 pm.
