After that we picked up our suitcases from the over-priced hotel and we took a bus to Kandy, the second largest city of Sri Lanka, after Colombo.
The trip was very uncomfortable because the bus was full of people standing up. We were lucky to get seats. The journey took 3 hours and cost £0.63 per person.
We arrived in Kandy at about 6 pm. We are staying in a really nice quiet hotel, less expensive than the previous one (£25 per night for the room). We had a walk in the city, it's compact, very busy and we like it a lot. It was a right choice to escape Nuwara Eliya a day earlier than planned.
In the pictures: a Hindu temple in Kandy (we were not allowed to enter) and my favourite bakery in Sri Lanka called P&S (Perera & Sons).
