Chennai Day 3

I could not sleep at night again so at 7 am I asked Fausto to wake me up at 10 am if I fell asleep. When I woke up at 10 am, I felt refreshed and ready to do some visiting. We booked 3-hour storytelling tour in a Mylapore district (the cultural district of Chennai and a one of the oldest residential parts of the city), where a guide told us a lot of stories about the Hindu and Catholic people in Chennai. The tour cost 1200 rupees = £14 pp. Before the tour we visited a lighthouse situated near a slum. The lighthouse has a triangular shape, not the usual oval shape.
During the tour we visited the famous Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a Hindu priest's house and St Thomas church. We found out that the beautiful St Thomas church has the remains of the apostle St Thomas and the church is one of three in the world that have them.
We also found out that some people, although they consider themselves Hindu, they also prey in Catholic churches and mosques (when they are allowed to enter a mosque), so all the gods can help them in life. Hindu people believe in sooo many gods, it so confusing!
Mylapore district is much nicer than George Town and there is a music festival at the moment so apparently there are some music shows in the district.
In the pictures: view from the lighthouse and in the Kapaleeshwarar Temple.
