Tulum

From Valladolid we took a bus to Tulum. It's a town situated near the sea, south from Playa del Carmen. It's just a main street, quite nice with a nice atmosphere, restaurants, bars and there is even a bakery. The rest of the town is quite rough and not developed. Apparently it's the best place in the world to invest at the moment, we were told by a Mexican guy who lives in Canada. I think he was right, and I am worried that the place will be totally destroyed in the future by big hotels and expensive restaurants, just like what happened to Playa del Carmen.
We like it here. It's not too busy and not too Americanised (yet). We met a lot of Italians here. Our Airbnb host Alessandro is Italian and so is his worker Stefano. There are too amazingly wonderful dogs on the property: Mimi' and Gilda. The studio flat we are renting is beautiful and not too close to the main street (10 minutes walk) so it's quiet.
In the pictures: Tulum's main street and ruins by the beach.
