On the day we were returning home we woke up early and after breakfast we went to Playa de Tortugas (Turtles Beach). The beach was nice, the water was very transparent and clean, and there were many lizards on the beach. Big hotels on the horizon... Playa de Tortugas is the public beach, other beaches are easily accessible if you are a guest in a hotel. Apparently beaches in Mexico are state property and there is a law that they have to be available for the public, however in Cancun access to them can be difficult because of the hotels. It's possible to access them only via Playa de Tortugas.
