This morning we took a bus to Chiquila and then a ferry to Holbox. It's a small island situated on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. There are some nice beaches on the island and many tours to do but as it's also winter in Mexico it's not the best time to do them. The centre is very small, the restaurants are expensive and the quality of food is not good, probably because it caters for tourists. There are at least two bakeries in the centre but they have nothing to sell, I couldn't believe it. I asked the sales assistant why they had nothing on the shelves, because we wanted to spend our money. The guy looked confused. On a positive note, we are staying in a nice apartment and it's good to have some rest.
