This morning we took a bus to Ninh Binh National Park which is situated about 130 km south from Cat Ba and is one of Vietnam's most important protected areas. We arrived in Tam Coc (which means three caves), it's part of the TrĂ ng An Scenic Landscape Complex - UNESCO World Heritage site.
We left our luggage in a hotel, we had lunch and took a boat to see a part of the park. Amazingly, the Vietnamese people who show you around on the boats paddle with their legs, not hands, for around 1.5 hours! Even the elderly people, they all have a perfect technique of paddling with legs. The national park is beautiful, a little bit similar to the Cat Ba islands. We paid for the trip at the tourist office but at the end the boat owners ask for a tip, we gave our woman money but she wanted more! And we observed that if someone didn't give a tip, the boat owners become aggressive and angry, not a very nice image of Vietnam unfortunately.
