The next morning I took a bus to Plaza de Mayo. It's one of the most important squares in the city and the site of Argentina's government. I visited the Cathedral, Casa Rosada (presidential residence that you can't visit inside anymore) and Cabildo. I met a local woman Paula, who is a tour guide. We couldn't stop talking in the middle of Plaza de Mayo in the full sun, so I invited her for a drink to a traditional coffee shop. We were chatting for a couple of hours and exchanged numbers. It's incredible, you leave home and meet a stranger, and unexpectedly you have a wonderful time. Paula told me a lot of interesting stories about Argentina, about the history and everyday life, and I enjoyed talking to her very much. We took a picture in front of the oldest bookshop in Buenos Aires (The Ávila). The store has a collection of old and rare books on a wide range of subjects.

In the evening I went to a Couchsurfing meeting in the Palermo district. It was in a nice bar and I met nice people, some locals, some travelling, some foreigners working in BA. It was nice for an hour but then too many people came and the music became very loud, so I left.
