We spent a nice evening with Luciana and Claudia and on Sunday we went to Catania airport to pick up a car that we booked via Easy Car website, with Green Motion company.

And here started the drama. We were an hour late in the airport; we were sure to have the car as we paid a deposit for it. Unfortunately, we were told that we couldn't get the car as we arrived too late to pick it up. Fausto got upset and angry; he phoned Green Motion in England but as it was Sunday, we didn't manage to do anything. After arguing for 3 hours  with a very unhelpful customer service woman, we took a bus to Siracusa and we met my wonderful friends, Luigi and Sirio.

Sirio picked us up from the station with his girlfriend, and he took us to Fontane Bianche, a beach town situated 15 km from Siracusa.
Luigi married a girl called Elisa and we stayed few hours in her parents’ house right by the sea. We had a lovely time with great people. We are staying in a house in Siracusa where I lived 16 years ago; it's an amazing feeling to be here again. 

Fausto emailed a complaint to Green Motion in England as they should have given us a car and this afternoon we were given apologies and promised a car for the rest of our holiday, which dangerously quickly is coming to an end.
