In Thailand, Phuket

We took a plane from Singapore to Phuket island in Thailand - 950 km, 1h 25 minutes travel time, cost £55 each (Tiger Airways).
The island was heavily affected by the tsunami in 2004 but now there is no trace of the disaster. It feels a little bit scary to be where it all happened and so many people died.
We were going to visit the island later in the trip but Fausto contacted his old friend Russell who has been living in Thailand for 11 years and we changed our plans to meet him, his Thai girlfriend Pet and his parents who are visiting him now.
We booked a luxury hotel with the best breakfast choice I have ever seen. We had to take a taxi from the airport to get to the other end of Phuket island. The hotel is amazing and very relaxing, with a big swimming pool and our room is spacious and luxurious with a sea view. We met Russell, his parents and girlfriend in the evening and we had a great time. I had my first massage in Thailand, one hour hard all body oil massage (as I found out during the massage - buttocks and breasts included ha ha ha...). The woman worked really hard. I paid £10 for the best massage ever (apparently it's expensive as we are in a holiday resort).
In the picture: a view from the plane, approaching Phuket.
