2 January, Mirissa

On the second day of our stay in Polhena we went to Mirissa beach, 15 minutes by bus from Polhena (11 pence per ticket). The beach is stunning (in the picture).
In the afternoon we went to the same restaurant of the previous night and I had a fantastic prawn curry.
The owner of our hotel is a young and chatty man. He was walking on the road when the tsunami struck in 2004. His family was on a bus, people had to smash windows to get out of the bus. It's always scary when people who experienced it tell you how it happened.
