Hue

We took a bus to Hue which is the capital of Thua Thien Hue province in Central Vietnam, located on the bank of the Song Huong - Perfume River (nice name!) and only a few miles from the sea. Hue was the national capital, the political, cultural and religious centre of Vietnam under the control of the Nguyen Dynasty. There are several tombs of ancient emperors scattering along the Perfume River.
When we arrived in the city, we visited The Hue Citadel. The Complex of Hue Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which consists of a massive complex featuring many monuments and ruins such as the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial City, royal tombs, flag tower, pagodas and temples.
